Equal Access America (EAA) is an initiative dedicated to creating awareness and providing access to affordable legal coverage for the 90% of Americans who don’t have it. Most Americans cannot afford quality legal coverage. In fact, 93% of respondents from the Legal Needs Study, believe lawyers charge too much for their services. EAA provides access to affordable legal coverage through its partner organization, LegalShield.

The Challenge

The team at Equal Access Amerca approached us with the task of establishing their brand, web presence, business strategy, and marketing materials. During the height of the protest against police brutality and mass incarceration in the US, Equal Access America was launched as an initiative and awareness campaign to educate Americans on the importance of legal coverage and to provide access.

57 million full-time working Americans have experienced at least one significant legal event in the past 12 months, yet most don’t have access to a lawyer or any form of legal coverage.

Brand Identity: Logo

We designed the EAA Logo to be used as an icon and symbol. The inspiration behind the EAA Logo comes from both a shield and a flag. These two symbols were combined to form the icon in the EAA logo. We used a bold all-caps font for the name and incorporated a star over the letter “i” that is the cutout of the star inside of the icon.

Brand Identity: Color

The EAA Color Palette incorporates a Salamander Orange as the primary color to represent a thirst for action, determination, and attraction, a Cedar Brown as the secondary color to represent stability, reliability, and security, and Linen as the tertiary color to represent elegance, softness, and pleasantness.

Brand Identity: Website

The EAA website was designed to appeal to anyone without legal coverage (ie. college students, young adults, senior citizens, young families, single parents, empty nesters, and business owners). The website layout and content was organized functionally to allow visitors to get information about EAA, register for legal coverage, attend a rally, join the EAA team, or become a strategic partner.

Brand Identity: Table Cover

We designed the table cover for EAA which incorporates the logo, social media handles, and a quote.
