The ACT House started as an experiment to rethink and redefine how we engage minorities in tech. What resulted was a mission to help innovators craft the best version of themselves, build their ideal team, and execute their dream, by leveraging innovation with cross-cultural collaboration.

The ACT House started as an experiment to rethink and redefine how we engage minorities in tech. The ACT House team saw an obvious problem and wanted to solve it. With a passion for all-things-tech and students attending college across the country, they began a journey to discover how we could increase the success rate of minority-owned startups.

The Challenge

The ACT House team approached us with the task of building their official website and brand story. After hearing the vision and mission, we immediately felt drawn to awaken possibility together. Not only did we believe in the work the ACT House team was doing; we also believed it was possible. What resulted was a website and brand story that would compel both college students and institutions to ACT.

ACT is an acronym for “Architect, Creative, and Technical”. ACT House rests on the sole premise that every team needs an architect (a business mind), a creative (brander and designer), and a technical (a kick ass programmer).

Brand Identity: Color

The ACT House Color Palette incorporates a Crimson Red to represent willpower, leadership, and courage, and a Charcoal Gray to represent conservatism, sophistication, and organization.

Brand Identity: Website

The ACT House website was designed to appeal to HBCU Students, College Institutions, and Venture Capitalists. The website layout and content was organized functionally to allow visitors to get information about ACT House, submit information to become a mentor or apply to become a fellow.

The ACT House is a start-up accelerator designed for students to live and create together by organizing three students – a designer, a business mind, and a programmer – in one house, for one year, to create and launch a company.

The ACT House team provided us with wireframes for UI design direction. We referenced the wireframes to build the official website.
